“레인보우 식스 시즈”의 시즌 3가 시작되기 직전, APAC가 프로 리그의 네 번째 주요 지역으로 선정되었음을 발표했고, 마침내 시드니에서 열리는 지역 결승전 무대에서 8개의 팀이 격돌한다. 한국, 일본, 동남 아시아, 호주, 뉴질랜드가 포함된 APAC 지역을 추가함으로써 전세계의 모든 팀들이 참가할 수 있는 무대를 마련했고, 비로소 프로 리그의 진정한 월드 챔피언을 가려낼 기회가 왔다.

APAC시즌 3 최종 결승전은 10월 21일부터 10월 22일까지 진행되며, 8개의 팀은 브라질 상파울로에서 벌어지는 월드 챔피언십 결승전에 참가할 수 있는 두 장의 티켓을 차지하기 위해 손에 땀을 쥐는 경쟁을 펼치게 된다. 또한, 모든 이벤트의 우승자는 식스 인비테이셔널 세컨드 에디션에 참가할 수 있는 자격을 획득하게 된다. 우선 시드니에서 열리는 지역 결승전의 진출팀은 아래와 같다.

 “레인보우 식스 시즈”는 5:5 팀 대전을 기반으로 한 온라인 멀티플레이 중심의 게임이며, 치열한 근접전투와 빠른 템포의 게임 진행으로 인기몰이를 하고 있는 FPS 장르의 최강자이다. 발매 1년 후에도 여전히 많은 유저들이 플레이하고 있으며, 최근 Year 2 업데이트 계획을 발표했고, 특히 한국 특수부대의 참전이 공식 발표됨에 따라 다시 한 번 주목을 끌고 있다.

 “더 디비전”은 혼자서 또는 최대 4명의 플레이어가 팀을 이루어 바이러스의 강타로 인해 괴멸 직전의 상태까지 내몰린 도시 ‘뉴욕’에서 무너진 질서를 회복하고, 시민들을 보호하는 임무를 수행하기 위하여 조직된 Division 요원의 활약상을 다룬 게임이다. 한편, 지난 12월 20일부터 PlayStation®4에서도 배포를 개시한 두 번째 확장팩 ‘Survival’ DLC는 장비도 없는 상태에서 혹독한 추위와 질병을 견뎌내고, 자원을 찾아 장비와 아이템을 제작, 마지막까지 살아남아 Dark Zone을 탈출해야 하는 새로운 게임 모드이다. 인트라게임즈(대표 배상찬)는 유비소프트(지사장 홍수정)와 협력하여 12월 1일 발매 예정인 PlayStation®4, Xbox one, PC용 FPS 게임 “TOM CLANCY’S RAINBOW SIX® SIEGE”의 전세계 동시 클로즈 베타 테스트에 참가 기회를 한국에서도 동일하게 제공할 예정이라 밝혔다.

 “TOM CLANCY’S RAINBOW SIX® SIEGE”(이하 ‘레인보우 식스 시즈’)”는 빠르고 정확한 판단을 요구하면서도 강렬한 파괴 액션을 체험할 수 있는 정통 FPS 프랜차이즈의 최신작이다. 플레이어는 정체를 알 수 없는 테러 조직 ‘화이트 마스크’의 테러 활동을 저지하기 위해 국적과 소속을 불문하고 소집된 ‘팀 레인보우’를 이끌고 최전선으로 뛰어들어야 한다.
